Depuis 1991, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 relanc\u00e9 en tant que randonn\u00e9e culturelle.<\/p>\n<p>Le chemin du Stockalper est l&rsquo;une des plus importantes travers\u00e9es alpines et peut \u00eatre parcouru en plusieurs \u00e9tapes sur des chemins originaux. Sur le \u00ab R\u00f6merweg \u00bb, vous traversez des prairies ouvertes en passant par Lingwurm pour rejoindre le hameau de \u00ab Brei \u00bb. \u00c0 travers la \u00ab for\u00eat de Gfalte \u00bb jusqu\u2019\u00e0 \u00ab Chalchofe \u00bb, un sentier de flanc creus\u00e9 dans la roche sous Stockalper et restaur\u00e9 en 1992 selon son trac\u00e9 d\u2019origine offre une vue impressionnante sur les gorges de Saltina et la vall\u00e9e du Rh\u00f4ne. En longeant l\u2019ancienne route napol\u00e9onienne, un raccordement vous m\u00e8ne \u00e0 la Via Stockalper, situ\u00e9e en contrebas de la route carrossable. \u00c0 partir de Schallberg, l\u2019\u00e9tape emprunte le \u00abTalweg Ganter\u00bb, remis en \u00e9tat, \u00e0 travers la vall\u00e9e de Ganter en direction de Rothwald. Au-dessus de Mittub\u00e4ch, l\u2019itin\u00e9raire m\u00e8ne finalement dans la vall\u00e9e de la Taferna et, par des lacets artistiques, monte jusqu\u2019au col du Simplon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remarque :<\/strong> le tron\u00e7on initial via \u00ab Grund \u00bb \u00e0 travers la vall\u00e9e de la Tafernat est ferm\u00e9 pour une dur\u00e9e ind\u00e9termin\u00e9e en raison d\u2019un risque \u00e9lev\u00e9 de chutes de pierres. Tous les randonneurs se rendant au col du Simplon sont pri\u00e9s de suivre les panneaux de d\u00e9viation orange \u00e0 partir de Schallberg et de ne pas descendre vers \u00ab Grund \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Variante avec les transports publics :<\/strong> la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape de Brigue au col du Simplon est particuli\u00e8rement difficile (19,4 km). Un trajet en car postal permet de r\u00e9duire la dur\u00e9e et la distance de la randonn\u00e9e. En dessous de l\u00a0\u00bbAlter Spittel\u00a0\u00bb, le long de la route goudronn\u00e9e, la randonn\u00e9e continue jusqu&rsquo;au \u00ab\u00a0Niederalp\u00a0\u00bb et puis jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;auberge Engiloch. Jusqu&rsquo;au hameau de \u00ab\u00a0Maschih\u00fcs\u00a0\u00bb, le sentier muletier m\u00e8ne \u00e0 travers un charmant paysage de p\u00e2turages bois\u00e9s qui, quelques fois, ressemble \u00e0 un parc. Le b\u00e2timent le plus frappant sur cette section m\u00e9di\u00e9vale du sentier est le b\u00e2timent Susten pr\u00e8s de l\u00a0\u00bbEngi\u00a0\u00bb, qui date d&rsquo;avant Stockalper. Depuis le \u00ab\u00a0Maschih\u00fcs\u00a0\u00bb, le sentier est parall\u00e8le \u00e0 la route nationale et traverse le hameau d&rsquo;Egga jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la for\u00eat, o\u00f9 le parcours original du sentier muletier ne peut \u00eatre devin\u00e9 que sous les puissants d\u00e9bris de l&rsquo;effondrement du glacier en 1901. sentier muletier m\u00e8ne \u00e0 l\u00a0\u00bbAlter Gasthof\u00a0\u00bb, \u00e0 travers le Stutzji, \u00e0 l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 sud du village et le long de la Napoleonstrasse. Le chemin passe sous la route nationale et de l\u00e0, descend sur la prairie du \u00ab\u00a0Chluis\u00e4\u00a0\u00bb en direction de Gabi. De Gabi, un chemin vous m\u00e8ne \u00e0 travers les imposantes gorges de Gondo jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Gondo m\u00eame.
