Above Mittub\u00e4ch, the route leads into the Tafernatal valley and on to the Simplon Pass.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>The original section via \u201cGrund\u201d is closed indefinitely due to an acute risk of rockfall.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">All hikers heading for the Simplon Pass are urged to follow the orange diversion signs from Schallberg and not to descend into \u201cGrund\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-hq1a3z-735fd2c72e60754d942a8855bf514c78 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" flows. These can reach the A-road and the footpath. For this reason, the section from \u201cEngeloch\u201d to \u201cMaschihuis\u201d is closed to walkers during rainfall. Please observe the signage and information provided on site.<\/p>\n<p>We suggest the following alternatives:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hiking option<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start the hike at the Simplon Pass and follow the Stockalperweg to the bridge towards \u2018Chluismatta\u2019. Cross the bridge and follow the road for a few metres. Passing the houses, take the footpath to \u2018d\u2019Stelli\u2019. A few minutes before the hamlet of \u2018Egga\u2019, turn back onto the Stockalperweg to reach Simplon village.<\/p>\n<div  class='avia-button-wrap av-6b699b-a34318ca375301121d4e1c4bcadddebe-wrap avia-button-left  avia-builder-el-16  avia-builder-el-no-sibling '><a href='https:\/\/www.stockalperweg.ch\/en\/viastockalper\/brig-simplonpass\/#ipd=40797234'  class='avia-button av-6b699b-a34318ca375301121d4e1c4bcadddebe av-link-btn avia-icon_select-no avia-size-small avia-position-left avia-color-theme-color'   aria-label=\"Tour description\"><span class='avia_iconbox_title' >Tour description<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<p><strong>PostBus option<\/strong> (if the pass road is open)<\/p>\n<p>Walk along the Stockalperweg from the Simplon Pass to \u2018Engeloch\u2019. The \u00abEngeloch\u00bb PostBus stop is just a few metres from the footpath. Take the PostBus one stop further and get off at \u2018Maschih\u00fcs\u2019.
