The following inscription is on the pedestal:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abIN DER FREIHEIT DER BERGE STEHT ES, EIN WUCHTIGES MAL AUS HARTEM GRANIT: EIN GEDENKEN TREUER PFLICHTERF\u00dcLLUNG, EIN DAUERNDES MAHNEN, WILLIG UND WACH ZU SEIN F\u00dcR UNSERE FREIHEIT.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Which freely translated means the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;In the freedom of the mountains it stands, a massive mark of hard granite: a memorial of faithful fulfilment of duty, a constant reminder to be willing and awake for our freedom.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In 2019, the Adler celebrated its 75th anniversary. To be able to show itself from its best and most beautiful side, it was extensively renovated in autumn 2018.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Location and arrival<\/h2>\n<p>From Brig you can take the post bus up to the Simplon Pass. At the railway station in Brig, take the Postbus in the direction of Simplon or Domodossola (I).<\/p>\n<p>Parking spaces are available on the Simplon Pass.<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-width: 260px;
