Additional rock, which can come loose at any time, makes it too dangerous to walk on.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brig-simplon.ch\/tour\/talweg-ganter-stockalperweg\">Talweg Ganter<\/a> was restored together with the Stockalperweg and serves as a diversion for the closed section of the trail. As the 1st stage from Brig to the Simplon Pass is longer due to the closure, here are two suggestions:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-aqeund-95ab96d72ae1f731ca114527bb4222e1\">\n#top .hr.hr-invisible.av-aqeund-95ab96d72ae1f731ca114527bb4222e1{\nheight:50px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='hr av-aqeund-95ab96d72ae1f731ca114527bb4222e1 hr-invisible  avia-builder-el-9  el_after_av_textblock  el_before_av_textblock '><span class='hr-inner '><span class=\"hr-inner-style\"><\/span><\/span><\/div><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-lwkb2j5f-029181e5e6aec742e5ff5d4e14630b0b '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><strong>Schallberg &#8211; old Ganter bridge &#8211; Rothwald, Schutzhaus &#8211; Simplon Pass<br \/>\n<\/strong>Take the Postbus to the Schallberg stop. Hike on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brig-simplon.ch\/tour\/talweg-ganter-stockalperweg\">Talweg Ganter<\/a> under the new Ganter bridge to the old Ganter bridge and into the Rothwald forest. Continue in the direction of Mittub\u00e4ch, before Mittub\u00e4ch turn off in the direction of the Simplon Pass.<\/p>\n<p>With a length of 12.6 km, this variant is only 300 metres longer than the original route of the Stockalper Trail Brig-Simplon Pass.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Variant Light<\/em><\/strong>: It is also possible to start the hike from the \u2018Eisten, Ganterbr\u00fccke\u2019 stop.<\/p>\n<p>Distance: 12.6 km \/ Ascent: 1062 m \/ Descent: 380 m \/ Duration: 4h 40min<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rothwald, Schutzhaus &#8211; Simplonpass<br \/>\n<\/strong>Take the Postbus to the Rothwald, Schutzhaus stop. These can reach the national road \/ hiking trail. For this reason, the section &#8220;Engeloch&#8221; to &#8220;Maschihuis&#8221; cannot be hiked in the event of precipitation. Please observe the signposting and information on site.<\/p>\n<p>We suggest the following alternatives:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hiking variant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start the hike on the Simplon Pass and follow the Stockalperweg to the bridge in the direction of &#8220;Chluismatta&#8221;. Cross the bridge and follow the road for a few metres. Walk past the houses on the hiking trail in &#8220;d&#8217;Stelli&#8221;. A few minutes before the hamlet of &#8220;Egga&#8221;, turn back onto the Stockalperweg to reach Simplon Dorf.<\/p>\n<div  class='avia-button-wrap av-4rzsuh-7aecc10ee9db4cbc518460ad4e48496e-wrap avia-button-left  avia-builder-el-17  avia-builder-el-no-sibling '><a href='https:\/\/www.stockalperweg.ch\/en\/viastockalper\/brig-simplonpass\/#ipd=40797234'  class='avia-button av-4rzsuh-7aecc10ee9db4cbc518460ad4e48496e av-link-btn avia-icon_select-no avia-size-small avia-position-left avia-color-theme-color'   aria-label=\"Tour description\"><span class='avia_iconbox_title' >Tour description<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<p><strong>Postbus option<\/strong> (if the pass road is open)<\/p>\n<p>Walk along the Stockalperweg from the Simplon Pass to &#8220;Engeloch&#8221;. The &#8220;Engeloch&#8221; Postbus stop is just a few metres from the hiking trail. Take the Postbus one stop further and get off at &#8220;Maschih\u00fcs&#8221;.
